Netflix has quietly developed a VR connection for its ‘Eden’ anime series | Engadget

It’s possible that Netflix will go to video games sooner than expected. Without much fanfare, the company quietly worked on a free Oculus Quest game called Eden excavated. Noted by , the game is available via the App Lab, which means it did not go through the full review process of Oculus. The list contains that the game was both developed and published by Netflix, but contains few other hints as to its origin.

What we can say is that it is almost certainly a turnaround for the the company released back in May. What’s interesting here is that there are two separate versions of the app with different release dates. The v0.7 release appears on April 20, while the v0.8 will be released in August. It appears along with the App Lab list that Netflix is still working on the game.

At the moment it is difficult to say whether Eden excavated represents the kind of video game release we can expect from Netflix. In July, the company helped him set up a game team. At that point, Bloomberg reports that the company’s plan was to offer games along with its traditional video offerings within the next year. We contacted Netflix for more information on Eden excavated.
