Valve’s Second Steam Next Fest Launches October 1st

Valve did not wait long to hold its second Steam Next Fest. The edge reports that the games -extravaganza (formerly the Steam Game Festival) will now take place from October 1st to October 7th. You will see a series of upcoming games, including livestreams and chats, but the highlight may be the demos. Most remarkable, IGN say you will try No Man’s Sky creator Hello Games’ Steam release of The last campfire.

Other game demos will include Ludomotion’s Research 2, The Artistocrats’ Starship Troopers – Terran Command and Andrew Shouldice’s action adventure Tunic.

Steam Next Fest, like Summer Game Fest and other virtual events, is a replacement for the global gaming conferences and expos that could not happen due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This gives independent creators the opportunity to promote and refine games that would otherwise get little attention compared to blockbuster titles. Of course, this also helps Valve — it’s likely that you’ll buy these games more and otherwise consider Steam a source for indie versions.
